Here I will keep a collection of notes that my wonderful Wife has written, that helps keep it all in perspective. I always benefit greatly from her insights. Click to view

Dear Emmett and Wendy,
We pray for you all daily. As I encounter reminders (e.g., apple butter) of you, I breathe a prayer. Your spirits in facing this overwhelming challenge are encouragement to so many. Your honesty constantly reminds me that we never know the trials people are facing. If only I knew some magic words to offer, they would be yours. But you are held in the arms of the loving God and lifted by the prayers of God’s children.

Oops I don’t follow directions well. I should have gone to the give tab.

Dear All,
I met the Ranchhands in Italy years ago and I happened to read on a friend’s FB page about Emmett.
Our prayers and good vibes to you! The battle can be won, have faith and be strong!

Emmett and Wendy,
My brother – John Nielsen, shared with me his friendship that he and Nancy have with you and your recent diagnosis. I was reading your teamemmett website and found it very touching and inspiring. We believe in the power of Prayer and the will of Christ’s plans in our lives. You and your family will be a part of our weekly prayer group here in Houston, TX. We wish you all the best that each day will bring. It is great to see your faith and strength!

(Proverbs 17:22) A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength
(Romans 5: 1- 5) 1 Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. 2 Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
Emmett, Wendi, and Quinn,
I am Kelley’s Aunt Kay. I know we have met in the past at Kelley and Jeff’s wedding, at concerts, etc. Anyway, I wanted you to know that I have been praying for all of you and also had your names posted on our church’s prayer list. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
In Christ,
Kay Greene
Emmett and Wendy,
I am praying for your family daily that you will feel His arms holding you close and know he feels your fear and pain. He is walking through this journey with you!
Love in Him
Nancy
Emmett and Wendy,
You guys don’t know me. David Gains gave me your site address. Diagnosed with colon cancer on Feb 4th. Just finished my second round of chemo last week. I appreciate your candidness and transparent faith. My husband and I are trying to do the same. I don’t have a blog or webite, but at times when I feel well enough, I post notes on my Facebook page. Your welcome to friend me (Colleen Iglody Keen). I feel like your hearts are reflecting my own. I cling to the fact that God is using cancer to conform me more to the image of His son, and for that I am ever grateful! I will pray that whatever happens, God will be glorified in your journey.
Peace,
colleen
Hi,
You don’t me but I have been working with your sweet uncle, Ron Hyde, here in Smyrna, Georgia.
Here is a verse for you:
The God of peace will be with you (Philippians 4:9).
I really can’t imagine what you are going through but I know it has to be very tough and you all are in my prayers.

Just something to think about (given to me by a friend):
Cell phone vs. Bible
Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we flipped through it several time a day?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn’t live without it?
What if we gave it to Kids as gifts?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of emergency?
Makes you go….hmm…where is my Bible?
Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don’t have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill!
Hello, I am so sorry to here about the cancer, just found out on Saturday night! I use to come and see you guys all the time in Minnesota, especially at Hinkley Casino. My prayers are with you and if there is anything I can do please let me know! Miss you! Cathy
Emmett, I had just finished my freshman year of high school in 1999, and came to dear ol’ LUL. I am a drummer and I remember asking you what hand drums were about and you told me, “worshipping God and truly feeling the music.”
Last night I helped lead worship at LUL wearing a Team Emmett wristband.
Praying for your entire family and team right now.
One Love
Dear Emmett, Wendy, and little one,
I got back from Look Up lodge yesterday and we watched your video… I will not lie, I cried during and after that video… You are going through so much and I believe you are a very strong person. Always know that God is there for you no matter what. I bought a wrist band with three dollars out of my last five. I know it wasn’t much but I simply wished for you to know that there are so many people who are helping you out and looking out for you. I was there when we had the shaving cream fight in your honor. I am pretty sure you know that the shaving cream was bought with money that went to you. Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that you have help in very high places and God will give you the answer.
Dear Emmett,
Laura Abbott told me about your battle several months
ago and I continue to keep you in my prayers. Your name
has been on our church’s prayer list as well. You and your
wife are a truly amazing, courageous couple. God has
given you both such strength throughout this ordeal, and
I pray that He will answer ALL of our prayers and HEAL U.
Our family believes in miracles, because Justin Abbott is
my sweet nephew. After his head injury accident, the
doctors told us he had a 5% chance of becoming a
vegetable. 16 years later, he has been happily married
to Laura Abbott, and is an inspiration to all who know him,
just as YOU, Emmett, are an inspiration.
God holds the answers, NOT the doctors!
With continued prayers,
Mary Huffaker/Monticello, KY
is amazing, as are you and you
